Rules and Regulations

Every dancer in the school must have a waiver filled out in the office. Dancers 17 years and younger MUST be signed for by a parent or legal guardian.

Dance Strides Barbados is an educational institution and therefore there are rules and regulations that must be
observed.


1. Dance Strides Barbados has the right to determine the suitability of students for the particular classes they wish to take, and may require students to change classes based on their ability or progress.


2. Dancers will not be permitted into a class after ten minutes of commencement, unless given permission by the instructor. However, that dancer may observe the class.


3. Any dancer missing more than two consecutive classes without an explanation will be required to present a letter from his/her parent or guardian. The student will be required to work with fellow students before or after class to catch up. In this situation the class will not be held back to facilitate students’ absences.


4. Dance Strides Barbados has the right to suspend any dancer who does not show full and consistent commitment to his/her dance training, and that dancer will not be permitted back into class unless the matter is dealt with by a parent/guardian and either the Principal or the Assistant Principal of the school.


5. Ill-discipline will not be accepted, and action for this type of behavior will be taken by the Principal or Assistant Principal.


6. All dancers must wear the appropriate dance attire:

a. Leotards and tights. Dancers are required to wear tights/leggings.
b. Ballet slippers for Ballet classes.
c. Jazz shoes for Jazz classes.


7. No jewelry is allowed in class.


8. No hats or bandannas are allowed in class.


9. All hairstyles must be neat and tidy, and must not be a hindrance to the dancer during class.


10. No street shoes are allowed in the studio.


11. No eating or drinking is allowed in the studio.


12. No eating is allowed thirty minutes before the commencement of a class.


13. No watching of classes is allowed unless the tutor or someone in charge gives permission.


14. No games or toys are allowed on the premises.


15. The use of cellular telephones is not permitted in the studio.
